
GET TO KNOW ME
I come from a proud family that has been involved in public service for as long as I can remember. I want to work for you. The office of Justice of the Peace is the first entity you will encounter when you enter the justice system and it needs to be fair, impartial, accessible to everyone without regards to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and sexual orientation. I am a strong proponent of championing those who might not have access to fair and adequate representation, while administering the law respectfully, ethically and with integrity. I am beholden to no one and am not for sale or rent.
Education
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I have a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice and have continued to utilize CTE courses to keep updated with the latest laws and subsequent changes. I have been a licensed and ordained minister since 1995 and have performed multiple weddings. I also have experience in the courtroom with the adoption of 2 of my children.
Community
I have over 30 years of experience working in the community, especially within the Social Services arena. My most recent experience has been with the homeless population, single-parent households, re-entry into society from incarceration, mental health challenges, and in the adoption/foster care system. I strongly believe that everyone should be treated fairly and compassionately. I have successfully advocated for these groups and have watched lives transformed. I have volunteered with Legal Aid of Northwest for the last 3 years and have seen firsthand how important it is for the law to be administered impartially and empathetically.
Commitment
I am committed to remaining an engaged and supportive part of the community while addressing and understanding the needs of citizens within the bounds of judicial ethics. I promise to be organized and to work efficiently and expeditiously.

Diversity
I believe diversity is the cornerstone of our society and should be preserved at all cost. Stated in the Declaration of Independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. This is especially true as it pertains to interaction within the justice system.
